Into the Ocean

Life's bright night light glittering off the ocean's surface. Stars, so still in the black abyss above, dance in the water while the man in the moon fishes for lost memories. Fish jump in and out of the seven seas hoping to catch a midnight snack. Dolphins sleep peacefully; otters relax in their kelp nests. Birds fly lazily in the night sky waiting for dawn to arrive. Whales breach the still and quiet surface, breathing oxygen in. A shooting star glides across the sky. Quick, make a wish! A gentle breeze drifts around the clouds and down to the water's edge. Barely a whisper escapes the puddle of fallen tears we call the ocean. The wind carries us farther towards the land, towards the shore. Sea foam reaches out to kiss the sandy beaches. Trees alive with squirrels billow in mother nature's breath. A lone figure watches the first blush of light escape over the horizon. Light, and with it comes day. The sun smiles out at the world; a new day ready to begin.

Wishes of the World

As I stand here in my meadow, the wind blows to me its wishes; the wishes of the world, and I find myself wishing the same.

I wish I could capture the grace of the trees in the wind and put it in a bottle. I wish I could steal the sweet perfume of the daffodills. I wish I could replicate the birds' flight and sail on the gentle breeze. I wish I could compose music as sweet and smooth as the grass's dance in the flowing wind. I wish I could become the playfull otter floating down the stream.I wish I could breath in the scent of freshly fallen rain forever.I wish I could calm the raging storm in my soul.I wish that this moment of wishes could last for always.
